How do you deliver six months of technical work in three weeks?
Challenge
When an unexpected CCS license round was announced, our client needed to act fast. They faced a complex task: to deliver the technical groundwork and mature potential storage sites to application-ready level – all within just three weeks.
With limited internal capacity and an ambitious scope, they turned to us for help.
Approach
We assembled our high performance team – a tightly-knit group used to working under pressure, with well-established roles and trust built over years. Within hours, we had analysed the scope, aligned on deliverables, and presented a detailed plan for the client.
This wasn’t our first project together. The client knew our people, how we worked, and what we had delivered before. So even though the timeline seemed extreme, they trusted us to give it a real shot. Their partners, however, laughed at the idea – six months of technical work in just three weeks? Impossible.
Our team - around 15 people - rolled up their sleeves and got to work. Clear responsibilities, intense collaboration, and a shared drives to deliver enabled us to move fast without compromising quality.
Result
The results spoke for themselves. Regional seismic context and detailed interpretation provided the basis for identifying viable storage sites. Simulation models were built, data assessed, and all findings were documented to a level ready for submission.
The application was delivered on time - and was later awarded a CO2 storage license that is active today.
At the final delivery meeting, the response was clear: applause from both client and partner. And shortly after, new tasks followed.
